In the past, just Michael and I have enjoyed browsing through the Seed Savers Exchange magazine together. This year I have found my kids picking up the magazine circling and making little stars or hearts next to the produce they want to grow this year. I couldn't be more proud!!! It has been so fun to include them in this stage of the process. I hope that this will help them feel even more ownership in the garden.
Where do you guys get your heirloom seeds? We collected many seeds from our produce last year, and will be planing many of those this year, but we also like to try new things.

What a perfectly timed post. I have been browsing their online catalog and was just going to ask if you liked to buy from SSE.
Holly, the last few years I have ordered from SSE, and I have really liked their selection, cataloge, descriptions of plants, and pictures in the catalog. My daughter is well excited
my 6 year old daughter is in love with the seed savers catalog, she sits and looks at it and talks about all the different types of beets she wants to grow!
I got my seed savers catalogue two days ago, but I already spent my seed budget on ones from Baker Creek Seeds. Both catalogues were great reads.
I got all my seeds from a place called Bountiful Gardens this year http://www.bountifulgardens.org/
They're based in Willits, California and it is just a stone's throw from where I grew up.
They probably have less variety than others, but I feel good about supporting their business--they are a non-profit which teaches sustainable gardening practices in small communities around the world.
