Projects That Get Out of Control

A lot of projects on a backyard farm start small then get out of control. Watch how a $10 kiwi plant from Lowes explodes into a major project involving time and money.

Can you say Anaphylactic shock 5 times quickly?

I can't say it once slowly.

Oh yes a common story here!!! I bought Kiwi last year and then found out they had to trellis. Mine are a variety that self pollinates so no need for male/female plants. I potted them in a large pot on the deck and put up a small trellis. They amazingly survived this winter and came back gorgeous. I am going to allow them to trellis down my deck posts! Well....at least this is my plan. We'll see if it works. But I might have to use an extension ladder to pick them! Always a story in this farming experience. Always!

Thanks for the laugh! Every project we have started has started as a "cheap" DIY project so we can totally relate to this! We'll be eating years worth of backyard eggs to pay for the start up costs of our coop! LOL
