Blog visit: Maple Hill 101
Hop on over today to Maple Hill 101 today and read Daisy's fascinating summer series, Seed to Table. Each Friday she highlights a different garden crop with pointers for growing it yourself, and recipes to land it in your tummy. Today's plant is pineapple. Although I live in wintry snowy mountains, I think I'll try her method of planting a pineapple crown and see how long it lasts as a houseplant. Fascinating! She has also featured sweet potatoes, okra, basil, black-eyed peas, peanuts and rosemary in her Seed to Table series. Take a look!

Jennifer, yes, Daisy has some interesting posts, doesn't she. Her garden mentor has an interesting container market garden. Of course the weather in Florida contributes to a much different growing season than Nebraska but still the methods are interesting to read and file away just in case they can be used in a little different way here. Most of their growing is done in the Fall and Spring with some during the winter. Summer in Florida is just too hot from most plants to survive, ah, well, except for pineapple. Good luck with the pineapple crown.
Have a great day in the garden.
Thanks for the shout out! We hope everyone enjoys the series!
