An Early Christmas Present

Life isn't fair. I hate this saying, but had to use it when my kids whined and complained that I got to open one of my Christmas presents BEFORE Christmas. I HAD to, it was a living thing and could die or be seriously damaged if I didn't open it. It was no consolation to the kids, and I still haven't heard the end of it. But, it was worth it, I love my cute little citrus trees!

The climate here in Utah isn't optimal for citrus trees, so I chose to get dwarf trees that I will be able to plant in a large pot. In the spring I will harden them off and let them be outside, in the fall we will bring them back into the house.

They are from Larry's Orchids and Tropicals. I ordered them through amazon.com.

I received a dwarf Meyer lemon for Valentine's Day last year, and it's just lovely! Good luck with your plants!

Good luck.

Please be careful if you decide to move/send them to another state. Citrus states like California have very strict rules of transport.

I'll be interested to watch their progress. Enjoy!

I received a dwarf lime tree as a gift 2 years ago and move it inside during the winter and back out once night temps remain over 40 degrees Farenheit. I don't know about your trees, but mine got over 6 feet tall this summer! If yours grow similarly, may I recommend making or buying a tool like the Pot Lifter. It allows 2 people to carry a heavy plant from one place to another, without back strain. (You can also stay far away from the spines that grow on some citrus.) Good luck!

Oh how fun. My sister use to live in FL and she sent me a dwarf tangerine tree last year as a birthday present. It's grown quite a bit already. Currently it's in my basement near a large window.
