Spring Cleaning

Like many of you, while others may be spring cleaning their homes, I have other plans. My spring consists of planing my garden, tilling the earth, starting seeds, transplanting plants, cleaning out the chicken coop, fixing hoses, etc.  It isn't until fall when the garden has been harvested and is hibernating, and the chickens are cozy and hunkering down for the cold weather, that I finally get the spring cleaning itch.

I got my hands on a label maker, and Whoa Nellie, I've gone crazy. The kids have started asking if they need to be labeled. If you don't have a label maker, I highly suggest one. Just check out some of the areas I have been cleaning and organizing.

When do you get your spring cleaning done?

I am in the same boat, nothing gets done in the house until there is snow on the ground!

It looks great! Way to go!

We spring clean in the fall as soon as we can open up the windows!

That is so funny...We are exactly like that too. In the spring, summer and fall we are planting and harvesting, but in Dec. and January is when we rest and get the house in order because it is too cold to grow anything. We do plant fruit trees in Jan, thou.
Enjoy the rest while it while it lasts!

It seems more common than I'd realized--I typically feel the need to scour and organize my home in preparations for the long winter months when we are incarcerated by the cold and snow. In the spring I am busy with the gardens and beekeeping, and besides, who wants to be inside cleaning when they can be outdoors enjoying nature and sunshine?

Think I'm going to take up your suggestion about the label-maker though; maybe it will help everyone else keep things organized; you know, no more excuses about not knowing where something belongs...?
