Unwinding the Cucumber Tendril Mystery

I am always fascinated by my cucumbers and their ability to send out tendrils that help them grab on to other objects and reach towards the sun. Watch this videos from NPR's Science Fridays. It talks about studies that have been done to figure out how cucumber tendrils work. Miraculous events occur around us every day and my vegetable garden is full of them.

Hey, your back. Nature is a fascinating force. It's an amazing thing to contemplate how it all works together. I hope you are having a great summer. It's been interesting here in Nebraska. We are now going through a cool cycle with temperatures in the lower 50s at night and mid 70s during the day. That's practically record temperatures and very unusual for this time of the year. Last week it was 90s during the day and 70s at night. It's been pretty dry during July. Average rain for July is 3.95 inches but so far we have had .38 of an inch. Heavy watering in the garden is the only recourse.

Have the best day that you can.
