What is CSA?

CSA is a community supported agriculture. In the spring you purchase a share of a farm for a predetermined price. As the farm produces, they split the goods between all the shareholders. We pick up our share every Thursday after 4pm for 18 weeks. If it is a good year on the farm, you get a lot, if it is a bad year, you will get less. The CSA we chose is not certified organic, but is working towards that and uses all natural practices. We got a notice this week that the cherries and apricots didn't do well, so we won't be getting any.

Here is an article Michael wrote on CSA's and it will give you a little more info: http://backyardfarming.blogspot.com/2008/04/community-supported-agriculture.html
