A "Firecracker Plant" Salute

by Jennifer

Every time I see dill's yellow seed heads shoot into the sky I think of my then 5-year-old's son look of wonder when he first saw them. "Wow!" he said excitedly. "Firecracker plants!"

Soon fireworks will be bursting all over America to commemorate the 4th of July, Independence Day. Here's wishing that no matter your country, you can find something in your life -- or in your garden -- worth celebrating!

  1. That's hilarious! I love it! I will never look at my dill blossoms the same way again.

Happy 4th to you and yours!
