Review and Giveaway

Does picking a paint color put you in a panic? Do you stand in the paint section debating over a few paint chips for hours?  Do you have all white walls, and wish that you could find, the perfect shade of green, yellow, or red? Or maybe you are like me, you have no problem picking a color,  but once you do and have a room painted, you sometimes find that it is a shade or two off of what you were hoping for.

If you fit in one of those categories, I will suggest Paint Color Cheat Sheets.

It is a quick read, and a great resource.  It lists the very best colors from Sherwin Williams color wheel (which I love). The cost of the Cheat Sheets is about the same cost as a can of paint. So, if you struggle with colors, in the long run it will save you money by eliminating the need to re-buy and re-paint.

The brains and talent behind the Cheat Sheets is giving away a digital copy to one lucky backyard farming reader.

To enter this giveaway, all you have to do is leave a comment!!!
(It isn't mandatory, but I would love to hear what you would like to paint as well. )

Giveaway will close this Friday at midnight.

I have to finish painting our entire house... We are closing August first, and we're selling to a friend, so I *gulp* volunteered to paint all the rooms before we left... I've already done the kitchen, living room and playroom, only four rooms and two hallways left! :)
Awesome giveaway!

I never would've thought to buy and read a book on choosing paint color. I LOVE color. I love to paint. I believe it is an inexpensive way to change the look of something and make it feel new. Usually, Nick and I just go and pick it out. So far, we have been lucky enough to enjoy the outcome, but this book has me thinking of all new projects. Thanks for the tip. Also, real quick: would you mind if I featured a link to your blog, on latter day woman magazine. I blog for them, and we are always looking for new websites with info! Let me know!!! Heidi

I love color too! My fiance and I moved into our home last October and on a whim I decided to paint the entire upstairs orange. It turned out great! At first it was a little shocking but once things were settled in a bit the orange was very fitting. I enjoy painting and tend to just pick a color. I like vibrant, bold colors that leave a lasting impression. The nice thing about paint is that you can always change your mind. By the end of the year I plan to paint our bathroom turquoise, the master bedroom plum and the baby room yellow, I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

There is so much I WANT to paint...but my classroom & my patio NEEDS it. I love to paint. I feel like painting is a cheap way to freshen up anything. I'm not very good at coordinating things. I just like color!

I have an epic painting adventure ahead of me. I just bought my first house, and one thing I said to my boyfriend was, "when I get a place of my own, I refuse to have white walls." So now, we're looking to paint about 7 rooms. And knowing my personality many of them will be different colors.

This book will definitely come in handy, as we spent last Saturday in Home Depot staring at the Martha Stewart paint collection for nearly an hour before we gave up and headed over to the garden center.

I have two or three go-to color schemes that I know I like, but I have trouble branching out beyond that. I'd love to read this book and hopefully get some better ideas to shake up our house!

what to do,go to the discounted.bad mixed paint area.Usually you will find what you are looking for within a trip or two.We found a mossy green for 7 dollars i hated it but when I painted it on oh yeah and one gallon was enough.
We have painted our rooms multiple times bc of the wrong choices, now the family says we have enough paint on our walls no need to insulate(our house is an 100 yr old farm house)Now onto the outside of the house,oh boy.

Its so hard to tell how a color will look until it is on an entire wall, and usually by then, I'm so far invested that I don't want to start over. We recently painted our living room what was supposed to be a light neutral gray, but somehow it looks completely light blue. Anyway, still have lots to paint, would love this resource! Thanks!

Aaaaa, you can see color? Bright colors I see but pastels, browns, and greens not so much. You see I have these male eyes that are partially color blind. So when it comes to picking colors, someone else has to do it. I painted my house yellow about 8 years ago. I thought it was a great color. When I finished the neighbor's comments were "It's a a a a very a a a bright." Well, it probably didn't help that I used high gloss on the outside of the house. Eeeeeh, they got used to it. So if ya need so help choosin' a color for your house. Who ya gona call? .... Not me that's for sure. :0)
