This is video 3 in my ongoing series on broiler production where I am raising 50 Freedom ranger broilers and 50 Cornish Cross broilers to compare the results.
Dale, I really appreciate this series you're doing. I'm wanting to raise meat chickens myself, but am considering a heritage breed rather than a Cornish cross. My concern is the cost factor. So much more meat for the same amount of feed is a temptation, but not necessarily the best choice. I'm curious to see how your cost factor works out, etc.
I just learned to process meat birds this weekend, so I'm about ready to get started! http://homesteadrevival.blogspot.com/2010/04/processing-meat-chickens.html
Hey Dale, I great BLOG! I do a have a question about the feeder. Do you have the details listed somewhere about it? What you used, how your built it, etc? I have searched the blog, but I can not seem to find it.

I wish I had the room to raise meat birds, but my henhouse is just big enough for the 10 layers and 1 rooster. Dang!
